What Do Teachers Even Do in July?
"What do teachers even do in July?"
We get asked that question a lot, and while we do enjoy a little extra sleep and sunshine, July is far from a true vacation. It’s a quiet, behind-the-scenes month where rest meets reflection. We’re resetting, reimagining our classrooms, updating plans, and slowly shifting our minds and hearts toward the students we haven’t even met yet. July isn’t just summer, it’s the soft beginning of a brand new school year.
From Student Teacher to Teacher Besties
From student teacher and mentor to teacher besties, our journey has been anything but ordinary, and this year, it’s getting even better! We’re teaming up as your Grade2Gurus to bring double the creativity, double the laughter, and double the love for teaching 2nd grade.
In our latest blog post, we’re sharing our story, where we came from, how our friendship bloomed, and why we believe teaching is better when you’re in it together. Plus, get a sneak peek at all the fun, ideas, and resources we have planned for YOU this year.
Come along for the ride…because with two gurus in the classroom, it’s bound to be an unforgettable adventure!
Running On Empty
Burnout doesn’t mean you don’t love teaching. It means you’ve been loving hard. It means your heart is fully invested. It means you gave all you had—and now it’s time to refuel, recharge, and remind yourself that what you’ve done matters deeply.
Embracing the Chaos
Spring may feel like a juggling act, filled with both opportunities for learning and moments of stress, but it also provides us a chance to create lasting memories with our students. By anchoring ourselves in love, support, and faith, we can guide our children through this vibrant season with joy and grace.
The Heart of Teaching
In the end, it’s not just about the subjects we teach or the curriculum we follow, but the relationships we build, grounded in love, support, and a shared purpose. Whether in Christian private schools or public schools, teamwork shapes the heart of teaching, and reminds us that our calling goes far beyond the classroom walls.
Invisible Threads
Teaching is more than just a job; it’s a calling woven with sacrifice, faith, and hope. Each day, I strive to guide my students not only in knowledge but also in love and purpose. Behind every lesson is a prayer, a challenge, and a deep belief that every child carries a divine future. I hope my journey sheds light on the unseen layers of teaching and invites our community to support and uplift the educators shaping tomorrow’s world.
NORMALIZING FAMILY VACATIONS
Taking vacations isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessity for our well-being as educators and as people. When we step away to rest, we come back refreshed, ready to serve our students with renewed energy and love. Let’s normalize taking time off, for ourselves and for the example we set for the next generation. Here’s to more moments of laughter, adventure, and cherished family memories!
NEW YEAR NEW BEGINNING
As we turn the page to a new year, let’s commit our teaching, our growth, and our classrooms to God. Whether embracing new methods, nurturing our students’ hearts, or celebrating small victories, may 2025 be a year of faith-filled purpose. Together, we can inspire young minds and reflect His love in all we do.
